Diogo Mónica is a Portuguese‑American entrepreneur, security engineer, and investor. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Instituto Superior Técnico, where he specialized in Distributed Systems Security. Early in his career, he led platform security at Square and later became the Security Lead at Docker, where he focused on protecting critical infrastructure used by banks, governments, and major cloud providers. In 2017, he co‑founded Anchorage Digital, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, and served as its President before becoming Executive Chairman. Under his leadership, Anchorage grew into a leading institutional custodian of digital assets. Today, he is also a General Partner at Haun Ventures, investing in Web3 and crypto startups, and he serves as Chair of the NEAR Foundation Council. He is recognized for his work at the intersection of security, finance, and blockchain, helping bring institutional standards to the digital asset industry.
